All 27 Pokémon booster boxes since Sword & Shield sell above MSRP, from 1.08× to 15.3×

We priced every standard main-set booster box from 2020 through 2026. None sells at or below list. Evolving Skies leads at about $2,199; this year's three boxes sit 8% to 13% above.

Every standard Pokémon booster box released since Sword & Shield in 2020 sells for more than its list price. We priced all 27 main-set boxes from TCGplayer market prices on Oct 19, and the smallest premium is 8%.

From 8% to more than 15 times#

The 2026 boxes sit closest to list: Perfect Order at 1.08 times its MSRP, Chaos Rising at 1.12 times, and Pitch Black at 1.13 times. Journey Together, from March 2025, is next at 1.19 times.

At the other end, an Evolving Skies box sells for about $2,199, 15.3 times its $143.64 list price. Fusion Strike is second at about $976, 6.8 times list. The median box sells for 2.29 times its MSRP, and 16 of the 27 sell for at least double.

Booster boxes don’t carry a list price of their own, so we use 36 times the pack MSRP: $143.64 for Sword & Shield sets, priced before the December 2022 increase, and $161.64 after it.

Older isn’t always pricier#

Older boxes tend to sell for a bigger multiple, but not in strict order. Phantasmal Flames came out in November 2025 and already sells for 2.43 times list, more than nine boxes that are at least a year older, including Scarlet & Violet (1.81 times) and Paradox Rift (1.76 times). Battle Styles, from 2021, sits at 1.96 times.

The top of the list has a chase card to match. Evolving Skies holds Umbreon VMAX, an alternate-art card that sells for about $2,325 by itself, more than a sealed box of the set.

Above list isn’t a profit#

A box above MSRP doesn’t mean opening one pays. For the 19 sets where we have pull rates, every box sells for more than the average value of the cards inside it, from about 1.6 times (Temporal Forces) to about 8 times (Evolving Skies). That average already counts the big pulls at their odds, so the gap is what buyers pay on top: for the thrill of opening, or for a box that stays sealed.

Prices fall too. Evolving Skies is down about 15% over the past year on tcgrate’s tracker of TCGplayer prices.

The full ranking, with yearly growth and the value of the cards in each box, is in The most expensive Pokémon booster boxes. If you’re choosing between a box and smaller products, see booster box vs. ETB vs. booster bundle.
