The priciest cards across the sets we track, ranked by market price, with the odds of pulling each one and what it would cost to try.

New to pull rates? The terms in 30 seconds
- “1 in 92 packs”
- On average, you'd open 92 packs to pull one. It's an average, not a promise: you could hit it in pack 3 or go 300 without one.
- SIR (Special Illustration Rare)
- Full-art cards with special artwork. Usually a set's most valuable pulls.
- IR (Illustration Rare)
- Art cards of single Pokémon. More common than SIRs, and often collected as a set.
- Hyper Rare
- The gold cards. Among the rarest pulls in modern sets.
- Double Rare / Ultra Rare
- The ex and full-art cards that make up most of a set's hits.
- Booster box / ETB
- A booster box has 36 packs. An Elite Trainer Box (ETB) has 9, plus sleeves and accessories.

Next to each price is how often the card turns up in packs and what it would cost, on average, to pull it yourself. It’s not an all-time list of the rarest vintage cards; it’s what’s worth the most in sets people are opening and buying now.

Are Pokémon cards worth anything?#
Some are worth a lot; most aren’t. Across the sets we track:
- 68% of cards sell for under $1.
- 25% sell for $1 to $20.
- 5% sell for $20 to $100.
- 1% sell for $100 or more.
So if you have a stack of modern cards, the value is usually in a handful of rare ones. Check the rarity symbol first, then look up the exact version. Our guide to checking Pokémon card prices walks through it, including how to spot valuable vintage cards.
Why chase cards cost less to buy than to pull#
Look at the last column of the list. For nearly every card, the average cost to pull it in packs is far higher than its market price. That’s because the value of a set is concentrated in a few cards, and each specific chase card is rare. Prices are TCGplayer market prices for ungraded, Near Mint cards. Pull odds come from verified openings in our evidence registry and assume every card within a rarity is equally likely. A dash means we don’t have a measured pull rate for that card’s rarity yet. Graded copies sell for different, often much higher, prices.
